a mixed voice choir based in Otley

Jackie began conducting choral music in 1979 when she took up her first secondary music teaching post. In addition to the school choirs she also took on the role of MD to a large Choral Society. Between the four contrasting groups she was able to indulge her love of vocal music and cover a wide repertoire from the start of her career.

After a four year break following the birth of her son Luke, Jackie returned as a part time teacher with a full extra curricular programme – a role she enjoyed for a further 20 years before retiring in 2014. This allowed the flexibility of continuing her guest conducting and over the past 30 years she has worked with a wide variety of choirs, bands and ensembles.

As a keen accompanist since 1976 she has taken on the role of official accompanist for music festivals across W.Yorks, Manchester and Hull.

Another important role for Jackie has been that of church organist in her own churches since her early teens.

In addition to her commitment to the Chippendale Singers she has also conducted Corpus Christi Brass Band since September 2011.
