Christopher Denton was born in Leeds, and joined his first church choir at the age of seven. He studied Music at the University of Sussex in Brighton and after nine years working as an organist and Choir Director in the area he took up the Organ Scholarship at Chichester Cathedral in 1997-1998, later becoming Acting Assistant Organist at Ripon Cathedral.

After spending some years as an organist in Norway Chris returned to the UK in 2007 as Assistant Organist at Newport Cathedral and in February 2010 he moved back to Yorkshire to pursue a career as a freelance musician. Chris has toured with choirs both as MD and accompanist and has given concerts in the USA and Europe. He is married to Camilla and they have three young sons, Benjamin, Laurence and Chad.

Sadly, after almost four years with us Chris has had to leave us as his wife takes up a new challenge as the Rector of Walkingham Hill in North Yorkshire.

We wish Chris, Camilla and the boys well in their new home and very busy life.
